FIRST SESSION: A FIELD-TRIP TO THE RUSSIAN RIVER TO TRY OUT ‘TERN’ AND TO LOOK AT THE FIR TREES GROWING NEARBY, LIKE THE ONES FROM WHICH THE BOAT’S PLANKING WAS SAWN.  ON THE SAME DAY,  WE VISIT A LOCAL SAWMILL THAT SPECIALIZES IN LUMBER FROM SUSTAINABLE, SECOND-GROWTH FIR TREES.

REMAINING SESSIONS:  BUILDING THE NEXT ‘TERN’ AT THE ARQUES SCHOOL, LOCATED IN SAUSALITO.
