The Eleanor was designed about twenty years ago by Robert Darr in the Arques school’s Traditional Wooden Boat Design Class. She’s been waiting quite a few years for her turn to be completed. Other historical restoration projects had been given priority at the School.
Eleanor is completely traditional: No plywood, only high end sawn lumber. Though just 21ft long, Eleanor is capable of long distance ocean sailing. She is heavily built with sawn and steam bent frames and planked with a mix of hardwood and softwood for long life. Eleanor is being rigged as a traditional gaff sloop. Her small cabin will be finished out according to the needs of the buyer. The Arques School’s traditional sailboat design Eleanor is now for sale at $118,000 finished. For more information, please contact Robert Darr at the School:
